Today I am thankful for a great God and these two blessings that are in my life!! Hope everyone has a blessed and safe holiday!!

So I know it's been awhile. I've had it in the back of my mind for the longest time to update this. I'm sitting here getting my remicade at the hospital so now would be as good a time as any. A lot of things have happened since In last posted. There's so much to catch up on but won't be able to post everything. Our biggest change is the loss of our Chocolate lab Kendra. I never realized just how much of a presence in the house she was compared to Sam and Macy. She is so missed by all of us but I think by Sammy the most.
I'm actually finished with making my Christmas cards early this year! Yeah me! The picture of Kenz in this post is one of the pics I used. Tried to keep it simple this year and took the pics early. Took Kenzie to her ten year checkup yesterday. I always love to see how much she's grown from year to year. This year I was totally shocked when they said she said that she gained ten pounds n grew four inches. Actually i wasn't surprised about the height seeing that I'm buying her new pants every other week! So now I'm just about done here so I'll really try to keep up with this again. It's important to me to do this because it helps me to keep somewhat of a journal of our everyday life. Have a great thanksgiving everyone!
Things around here have been the same ole' same ole'! I did get quite a bit done. Kenzie and I went raspberry picking and I made some awesome freezer jam with it. I never made it before and it was so easy. I'll be making it again. It lasts up to a year in the freezer. So I think I might try peach next.
We also got to our good friends camp that they have. We laughed the whole time seeing that I brought Brent! We all thought it would be funny if Brent tried out the canoe by himself! Needless to say he would of been better with someone else in there with him!
We're hoping to go camping at least once before school starts. The summer always goes by quicker than you'd like.
So now I need to go and get some stuff checked off my mental checklist!
Seeing that I never got around to "spring cleaning" I figured anytime is a good time! I finally tackled the upstairs hall closet with all of our linens and stuff. The minute I finished emptying one of the shelfs I turned around to find my not so little friend trying to claim it as his new resting place!!
He's such a character. Other than trying to get stuff done around here and the normal summer stuff of summer and playdates, that's about it! Did finish first scarf and need to take pictures of it. Working on a second to maybe give to my mom for her birthday. I'm thinking about maybe making a couple of cards next week to send to Jennifer McGuire's cards for kids and having Kenz help me. You make a bunch of cards and they go to a bunch of kids who are sick and their families. I think it's a great cause and such a encouragement and support to the family. If you wanna check it out you can check out her blog here jennifermcguireink.typepad.com/ and just click on the side link Cards for Kids. It explains everything there. Off to eat supper. Hope the maid made something good!!!
This is what Kenzie is bugging us for now!! Actually she's been asking for awhile now. The one she's riding is the boys next door. Their dad let her ride it yesterday up and down the street. Of course she was only allowed to ride it in third gear and that was only a couple of times. You could see the little speed smile that her dad gets when he's up to no good! She was loving it!!
I'm lucky I got the pictures I did. For some reason she didn't want us taking her picture riding. Brent even tried before I got home and when he saw me trying he told me "good luck!" Here's one of the I don't want you to take my picture!
So nothing really too much going on here. I've just been working a lot the past week and then again tomorrow. Tuesday it's already time for my treatment again. Kenzie and I have just started/learned how to knit with the little round knitting looms you can get now. I'll post some pictures of projects as soon as we get some done. So much easier with the looms. I could never knit with just regular knitting needles. Hope to make some cool stuff! Time to go and throw my supper together!
That should be our family logo!!! Friday started off really great. When to the beach with some friends and had a blast!!
Everyone had a great time and was wiped out by the time we left. I knew that I had gotten some sun but didn't think I had gotten "that" much sun as what I really did. Needless to say I didn't make it to work on saturday because my nausea was so bad and I pretty much slept the whole day! While I was driving home from the beach Brent called me and said that he put a drill thru his thumb and was heading to the ER. By the time I got to Milford ER they were xraying his thumb and found that he had broken it and there were a couple of metal pieces under the nail they needed to get out. So that was our fun friday!!!
On a happier note I do have some pictures to share from blueberry picking and a few other things. Blueberry picking was perfect. It wasn't hot at all and it's always nice to go with my mom and Kenzie. We try and do it every year.
We went to Tougas farm were we usually go. I love to get there fresh blueberry donuts that they make there and Kenzie usually gets ice cream. The next picture is a creative share!!! I always make something for my parents for their anniversary, birthday , etc and it usually has a picture of Kenzie. I figured this year they have plenty pictures of Kenzie that I would do one of the two of them. Here is what I came up with!
I scanned their wedding picture into my computer and then printed it on canvas paper. I used my tattered angel spray mists for the canvas background with a Heidi Swapp mask. I also used the mists on the flowers to try and match the flowers that my mom had in her bouquet. The large chipboard letters are from BasicGrey. They loved it! Also here is the card I made for them. It was a scraplift I think from Hero Arts. I just changed the colors and sentiment.
All the stamps are by Hero Arts and the flower is colored with copics, which I'm beginning to have a huge addiction to!!! Well I guess I better get off my sunburned butt and start supper!!!
Okay so I'm really trying to get back in the habbit of posting here. What's this post #3 within the last week or so! Lots has happened in the last week. Of course I posted some of Kenzie's recital rehearsal pics. Since then we got our camper, which I'm sad to say I don't have a regular picture of just yet. I could just get my butt up off of this chair and go take one, but it is starting to get kind of dark out. Next post I should have one. Here's a picture of my new "big girl"! She just had her haircut last night. My friend Kelly layered it and she looks so much older. Thanks Kelly! She loves it and all the way home she kept asking me if it was "permanent." I asked her what she meant and she told me the curlies and the waves! She loves it so much. Not sure if you can see it too well here but it looks adorable on her!!
I asked Kelly if she could put it back so she'd look a little younger still! Her friend Cassidy also came over yesterday and spent most of the time in the pool horsing around and just having a good time. Isn't that what summer vacation is all about!
Tomorrow it's off to pick blueberries at Tougas Farms. I figured it would be a good day because it's not going to be so warm and muggy out. I'll finish off with a creative picture.
I cut the girl m & m out with my Silhouette. All the parts were cut out of different designs to make it work. I made a green m & m because Kenzie's teacher's favorite color is green and loves m & m's!!!
I've come to the conclusion that she's not one of the little girls anymore at dance. She's grown up into a somewhat graceful girl, just don't give her roller skates! Tonight was rehearsal for her recital on Saturday. She did a good job, but of course she doesn't smile as much for rehearsal because she knows I'm taping her. For some reason she gets extremely embarrassed. I think it's because all the lights are one and she can see everyone sitting out in the audience. Come recital day she smiles like there is no one else in the room. Go figure.
We got up kind of late today because I tried waiting up for Brent while he was working at his father's shop wiring a car that was suppose to be done for this morning. I only made it to a little after 1. I found out this morning that he didn't get home until after 3! So we just kind of hung out and relaxed before we had to go to rehearsal. Kenzie got to swim in her pool for the first time this year. She's gotten so tall that it really isn't that deep for her. It's only one of those blue easy set pools. It does the trick to cool her off and keep her entertained for awhile. That's what I like!
Well I'm guessing it's going to be another late night for Brent. He's doing a tile floor for someone. I can tell you that I won't be waiting up tonight seeing that I have to work tomorrow and just the fact that I'm still messed up from staying up late last night. Once again I'm crossing my fingers that we get to pick up the camper tomorrow after I get out of work. So far it looks good. I'll have to post some pics once we get it. It'll be nice just to take Kenzie different places and get a chance to escape from everything here and there! Well have a good night!!
We ended with this and began with this!
She's grown so much in just 10 months. She did great on her report card as usual. Today I had to pick up another two books for her because she flew thru the last two I got her last week, or maybe not even a week ago! She' s just like her Momma when it comes to reading because Brent always asks me, "how can you sit there and just read all that?"
I just finished putting up her EZ set pool. Whoever gave it that name obviously wasn't putting it up alone! So now we just have to wait for it to fill. That should hike our water bill nice and high!!! Hopefully there won't be any leaks. Well it's off to work for me tomorrow for half day. I was just starting to get into practice on the hang of the whole summer vacation thing too! Oh well there's always thursday!!!
I'm trying to make an effort to catch up. Lots to catch up on. Kenzie will be done school on the 21st and I know there will be lots of pictures coming.
